Travel Preparedness for Jekyll Island Visitors is Top Priority
We know these are difficult times with travel concerns for everyone but it doesn’t mean visitors can’t enjoy the beaches and beauty of Jekyll Island and have some vacation fun. We want our guests to know that the Jekyll Island Authority is actively monitoring developments and information surrounding COVID-19’s potential impact on travel to and around Jekyll Island, as the health and safety of our guests is a top priority. Jekyll Reality is continuously monitoring and participating in communications provided by Georgia state health and government officials to ensure any necessary precautions are taken and are committed to providing a safe environment.
All Jekyll Realty staff members are required to wear face masks and maintain physical distancing when interacting with guests and abide by increased hand-washing and sanitizing protocols. To keep your vacation rental safe, our team will follow robust cleaning and sanitization protocols to clean each property in-between guests. All surfaces will be sanitized prior to arrival so all guests can feel safe during their Jekyll Island stay.
Jekyll Island Beaches are Open
The beaches in Jekyll Island are open with access to picnic areas, beach pavilions and restrooms. Visitors can feel comfortable heading to the beach with their household and catch some rays. As your plan your stay, keep these healthy best practices in mind for your safety and the safety of those around you; wear a mask and practice physical distancing by maintaining at least 6 feet of space between you and others outside your household. All regular beach activities, including the use of chairs, coolers, tents, and umbrellas, are allowed on the beach.
The good news is guests can still enjoy all the island’s offerings such as golfing, fishing, biking, kayaking, paddle boarding, shopping and dining as long as safety protocols are followed. While future summer events are still being evaluated, guests are encouraged to check the events calendar regularly for updates as an event date gets closer.
Staff Safety Measures and Protocols
Jekyll Realty staff members are taking a number of stringent precautionary measures to ensure the safety of our guests and have increased many of our operational protocols. In addition to all staff members wearing assigned face masks, customer service counters have Plexiglas dividers to further establish social distancing. There are hand-sanitizing stations and pumps at all authority-operated gift shops and amenities, including the Jekyll Island Guest Information Center and Jekyll Island Convention Center. We have increased the sanitation of public surfaces including countertops, doorknobs, and other areas throughout our facilities that frequently come into contact with the public.
