Why Choose a Vacation Rental Over a Hotel on Jekyll Island?

Enjoy a homey feeling with a stay in a Jekyll Island vacation rental! With our extensive inventory of privately owned properties along Jekyll Island, you’re sure to find that vacation rental that will feel like a home away from home. Find out the benefits of choosing a vacation rental over a hotel for your Jekyll Island vacation.

1. Space and Comfort: Perfect for Every Traveler

Compared to hotels, our Jekyll Island vacation rentals provide large living spaces ideal for families, large groups, and even remote workers looking to work and travel. Whether you’re hosting a multi-generational family vacation or a retreat for friends, our inventory includes 150 homes, cottages, and condos. Enjoy features like fully-equipped kitchens, spacious outdoor patios, and private pools not typically available in hotels. You’ll be able to choose properties based on your needs, from a cozy cottage perfect for two to a spacious oceanfront home for the whole group. Skip out on the shared elevators or communal areas and enjoy the privacy a Jekyll Island vacation rental brings you.

2. Cost-Effectiveness

By booking directly with Jekyll Realty, you can take advantage of savings not typically offered by hotels. Finding hotels for everyone can be cumbersome if you’re traveling with a large group or multi-generational family. When you book a large rental, you can split the total costs among family and friends, making this option more cost-effective. Vacation rental companies are also more likely to offer specials throughout the year to help you save even more. And don’t forget! Because our Jekyll Island vacation rentals offer well-equipped kitchens, you can cook a delicious meal instead of dining out every night like in a hotel.

3. Live Like a Local

Outdoor Adventures

Take a walk along any of the scenic trails crossing the island or stroll along one of Jekyll Island’s lovely beaches. The quiet stretch of sand at Driftwood Beach is a serene setting for a meditation session or a picnic on the sand. For a stunning view of the sunset, stop by St. Andrews Beach at the end of the day.

The water temperature is a bit brisk this time of year, but with the right gear, getting out on the water on a stand-up paddleboard or kayak can be an exhilarating experience. For those who don’t want to dip their toes in, there are also boat tours available to cruise the waves or spot dolphins.

For inland adventures, the salt marshes of Jekyll Island offer incredible bird-watching opportunities, and winter is a prime time for different species to swing through on their annual migration pattern. Fishing enthusiasts won’t want to miss the marshlands or piers, and charters are available for in-shore or off-shore excursions.

Health and Wellness Activities

Take some time out of your vacation to focus on yourself with a variety of health and wellness activities.

Book an afternoon massage at the Jekyll Island Club Hotel’s Spa Cabana or Beachlife Massage Spa to help ease any tension you may have built up. Both offer a selection of massage and body treatments, with aromatherapy and scrubs. Additional spa options are found on nearby St. Simons Island.

Get stretched out and breathe deep at a yoga class at one of the yoga studios located a short drive away on St. Simons Island. Some of these studios also offer classes outdoors or on the beach on Jekyll Island.
