Driving from Savannah to Jekyll Island, Georgia
Driving from Savannah to Jekyll Island requires just a short hour and a half south-bound drive. However, if you’d like to take a more leisurely pace on the way to your vacation, we’re here to help!
From Savannah, hop on I-95 south and after about 45 minutes you’ll reach your first leg-stretching stop. Townsend, Georgia is not only home to the pint-sized attraction of the Smallest Church in America, but also a great place to stock up on fresh Georgia peaches to bring back to your Jekyll Island vacation rental. Georgia Peach World is right along I-95 and offers a taste of Georgia’s agricultural treasures like peaches and pecans as well as southern-style treats and fresh, local produce.
Next, continue on I-95 for another 24 miles until you hit exit 29. Take exit 29 and head east on GA-520 E/US-17 N for 5.5 miles. Continue right on GA-520 at the intersection and you’ll soon arrive at the entrance to the Jekyll Island State Park. Pay for your Jekyll Island parking and entrance passes and then pop into the Jekyll Island Guest Information Center. There the friendly staff can help you find maps, brochures, and island information, or help you pick out a new pair of sunglasses or souvenirs at the gift shop.
Once back on the road, to find the Jekyll Realty offices continue down GA-520 until you reach the traffic circle and the end of the highway. Enter the roundabout and take the 3rd exit onto N. Beachview Drive. Turn right into the first parking lot, for Jekyll Island Beach Shops.
Jekyll Realty is located at 21 Main St Suite 107 just ahead of the shops in the Beach Village, and adjacent to the Convention Center, and across from Ameris Bank.
