The Best Spots to Fish on Jekyll Island

Jekyll Island, our small island off the coast of Georgia, is not only well known as a vacation spot but also houses one of the most diverse and pristine saltwater fish communities in the world. There are many different species of fish to be found in these waters, including redfish, trout, flounder, and catfish. Whether you’re looking for specific species or just want to have fun and cast a line, there are plenty of places to fish on Jekyll Island. Some of the best spots include the Jekyll Island Fishing Pier, Driftwood Beach, and the beach at St. Andrews State Park. Each of these locations offers anglers a different experience and a chance to catch a variety of different fish species.

Jekyll Island Fishing Pier

Jekyll Island Fishing Pier is a great place to start your fishing adventure on Jekyll Island. It is conveniently located next to Jekyll Island Fishing center where you can buy your bait, ice, gear and more. This location is especially known for its redfish, trout, and flounder catches. The pier is also a great place to see dolphins playing in the water. There are also public restrooms and picnic areas available.

Driftwood Beach

This beach is known for its redfish, trout, and flounder catches, making it the perfect spot to try your luck at landing a big one. With all of the beautiful driftwood logs scattered along the beach, you will have plenty of great photo opportunities to show off the beautiful scenery as well as your fresh catch!

The Beach at St. Andrews State Park

The beach at St Andrews State Park is another one of the best places to fish on Jekyll Island and this particular spot is especially well known for its flounder and redfish catches. There is ample parking at this park and it also offers amenities like picnic areas, shelters, restrooms, and a playground for the kids.
