We had a great stay at Jekyll Island. The house was in good condition and well maintained. The upper floor provides a large gathering area and the large deck is nice. The only issue we had was that the ice maker did not work and was not repaired after we reported it. This is the first time we have stayed as far north on the island and we will not do so again due to not being able to walk to the beach from the house. The wooden walkway over the dunes does not give you access to the beach much of the time. Even at low tide, the bottom of the walkway is washed out and is difficult to maneuver. If this is important to you, I would not recommend this location. If it is not important to you, and you do not mind getting into your car to get to the beach, this is a great space. On the plus side, the pools and hot tub at the Days Inn, which are part of the rental, was good. It is located on the south side of the island.

The house was very spacious and clean. We had everything we needed to cook. The beds were comfortable even for my sensitive back. The house had only one smoke detector downstairs. It would seem that every bedroom and the top of the stairwell should also have smoke detectors to meet modern fire safety requirements

Cap'n Daddys made for a great week at Jekyll Island. The home is beautiful. The entire experience was just wonderful. The pictures of the house online don't come close to showing how beautiful the home is.

We loved our visit to Jeckell Island, the beaches, trails and especially, the house. The rooms were spacious and the kitchen had everything we needed to prepare food for our family gatherings.

The rental was spacious providing a lot of room to spread out. We rented a Red Bug to carry everyone and their beach stuff to the beach access. The beach was not crowded and very enjoyable.

We had a lovely week-long stay and enjoyed the beach, biking, family and fireworks (held on July 3rd). The home was very clean and welcoming. The upstairs was bright and spacious, and kids loved hanging out there and playing cards, music and board games. Downstairs was very roomy but the furnishings were a bit outdated and better lighting needed in some of the rooms. But the house was clean, the kitchen well stocked and we had a great time. Unfortunately, much of the beach is eroded so you have to climb over rocks or go down several streets for beach access. The new shops and restaurants are wonderful and we especially enjoyed eating at the Driftwood Bistro.

Cap'n Daddy's is a great house for spreading out . The one bedroom.upstairs offers privacy if that's what you want and yet close enough to feel cozy. The other bedrooms were a nice size and very convenient. We loved the upstairs balcony where we could catch glimpses of the ocean and hear the waves. It was a great place to relax, rest and recharge. We had a little trouble with the Internet to start with but it was taken care of as quickly as possible. The staff was helpful and courteous. Had a very good week, it just didn't last long enough!

This is one of the best houses we've rented. My only complaint every year is that no linens are provided That would really cut down on packing. Jekyll is the only place I've stayed that does not provide linens. The prices are high enough to support it. I rented linens before, but the quality was very poor.
